As a Canadian do I need a passport to fly from Buffalo to Florida

As a Canadian do I need a passport to fly from Buffalo to Florida?
I'm Canadian but am taking a flight within the USA from Buffalo to Florida on Southwest Airlines. I just realized that my passport has expired. Do I need the passport to fly domestically in the US?

If you have a Canadian Provincial Driver's license, you will be OK. An expired passport will probably not do it. These are the ID rules from the TSA's web site about acceptable ID: (Note the second paragraph where there are provisions for people who don't have acceptable ID - but you may still be denied boarding.) = = = = = = Effective June 21, 2008, adult passengers (18 and over) are required to show a U.S. federal or state-issued photo ID that contains the following: name, date of birth, gender, expiration date and a tamper-resistant feature in order to be allowed to go through the checkpoint and onto their flight. Passengers who do not or cannot present an acceptable ID will have to provide information to the Transportation Security Officer performing Travel Document Checking duties in order to verify their identity. Passengers who are cleared through this process may be subject to additional screening. Passengers whose identity cannot be verified by TSA may not be allowed to go through the checkpoint or onto an airplane. Acceptable IDs include: * U.S. passport * U.S. passport card * DHS "Trusted Traveler" cards (NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST) * U.S. Military ID (active duty or retired military and their dependents) * Permanent Resident Card * Border Crossing Card * DHS-designated enhanced driver's license * Drivers Licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent) that meets REAL ID benchmarks (All states are currently in compliance) * A Native American Tribal Photo ID * An airline or airport-issued ID (if issued under a TSA-approved security plan) * A foreign government-issued passport * Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) card * Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Non-US/Canadian citizens are not required to carry their passports if they have documents issued by the U.S. government such as Permanent Resident Cards. Those who do not should be carrying their passports while visiting the U.S.

All you need to fly within the U.S. is a photo I.D. However, you need to get your passport renewed immediately. Since your passport is expired, you are now in the U.S. illegally.

You don't need a passport to fly on domestic flights in the United States, your Canadian driver's license suffices as ID. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/acceptable_documents.shtm .. However you will need one to cross the Canadian - U.S. land border to get into Buffalo. Alternately you could use an Enhanced Driver's license issued by British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, or Quebec. http://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/whti-ivho/ls-tm-eng.html .. https://help.cbp.gov/cgi-bin/customs.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=619&p_created=1056630853&p_sid=MKXhRgOj&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_srch=1&p_lva=751&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NTgsNTgmcF9wcm9kcz0mcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3BhZ2U9MSZwX3NlYXJjaF90ZXh0PUNhbmFkYQ!!&p_li=&p_topview=1 ..
