The scary part is that the airline says he met, and exceeded government standards. It could be also that they are trying to find a scapegoat, and as he died with the passengers he is unable to defend himself.

It's all hysteria. A 16-year old with much less training and experience can be behind the wheel of a speeding car that could just as quickly and easily kill you. In fact, regardless of "pilot training" a substantially higher amount of people die due to automobiles than aircraft accidents. Do you propose we change the whole driver's licensing process, too? I'm flying again next week and am less concerned about it than I am getting hit by a car while jogging or riding my bicycle down the street. Don't let the hysterics by the media get you concerned about something that has a significantly lower risk than other activities you do every day. That's what they are TRYING to do.
