Do Candians flying within the USA need a passport

Do Candians flying within the USA need a passport ?
i live close to the border and flights to florida are cheaper from buffalo then toronto. so i was wondering if me and my friends could drive across to the states and take a flight within the USA . but people have been saying theres is some new law that was just passed in january that canadians have to have a passport to fly any where is this true?

Un fortunetly, this is true. Now, even if you drive across the border you have to represent a passport. To answer your question you must have a passport to travel anywhere in the states if your a Canadian citizen. Hope that helped. :)

It is absolutely NOT true . There is no such law. There IS a great deal of misinformation and rumor out there. After June 1, 2009, you must have a passport to travel to the U.S. by land as well as by air....but not YET. AND...inside the U.S., you only need a govt issued , current, I.D....like a drivers license to fly within the u.S. See site below and read carefully. There is NO law that says foreign citizens must have a passport to travel within the U.S.
